Well, the most obvious significance of 4K cameras has to do with their video quality. Images from a typical 1080p HD camera consist of about two million pixels, while with a 4K camera, that figure quadruples to about eight million. Usually, more pixels equals greater picture quality.
The HD-BL8 is a 4-in-1 HD bullet security camera that supports the following video surveillance formats: AHD, HD-TVI, HDCVI, and analog CVBS. The AHD, HD-TVI, and HDCVI modes support 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080). The analog CCTV mode (CVBS) supports 960H resolution (960 x 480). Installers can easily select the video mode using the small joystick that is attached to the camera's video cable. The 3.5mm to 16mm varifocal lens is adjusted using the twist-rings on the camera body and allows installers to adjust the field of view between an 82 to 16-degree field of view and a much more zoomed in angle. Check out these sample surveillance photos and this demo video that demonstrate the range of view.
The HD-BL8 is enclosed in an IP66 weatherproof bullet-style housing which makes it a great choice for indoor and outdoor installations. The tri-axis mounting bracket allows installers to ceiling mount or wall mount the camera and adjust the angle of view in any direction.
In our testing, we connected our HD-BL8 to an iDVR-PRO HD surveillance DVR so that we could run the camera at 1080p resolution. In addition to providing a recording platform, the iDVR-PRO DVRs lets user login from remotely over the Internet to view the camera live. The below image was captured using the iDVR-PRO Viewer app for iPhone.
The BPRO-OL952 is a bullet security camera that supports AHD, HD-TVI, HDCVI, and analog CCTV video surveillance modes. In AHD, HD-TVI, and HDCVI video modes, this surveillance camera captures 1080p / 2 megapixel high resolution video. In analog CCTV mode, it captures 960H (960 x 480 pixel) video. The video modes are easily switched by the installer using the OSD joystick that is attached to the video cable.
This bullet CCTV camera has a 3.6mm lens which gives users a wide angle of view (approximately 90 degrees). The lipstick style housing is IP66 weatherproof rated which means that you can use this camera for indoor and outdoor installations.
The following snapshot pictures were taken using the BIPRO-OL952 bullet camera at CCTV Camera Pros headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida. This particular office is 13 x 20 feet in size. All of the camera's settings are set to factory default for this image.
To capture this image, the camera was connected to an iDVR-PRO HD security camera DVR using RG59 Siamese coax cable. The camera's video mode is set to 1080p AHD video. Please click on the image to see a full 1080p resolution image.
A big advantage that this bullet camera has over other CCTV cameras is the advanced on-screen display that installers can use to set up the camera just right for the specific environment it is being set up in. Below is a picture that shows how the joystick / controller is connected inline with the camera cable. Installers use this to access the OSD menu.
CCTV Camera Pros also supplies this bullet CCTV camera with vari-focal lens. The HD-BL8 has a 3.5mm to 16mm varifocal lens that can be adjusted using the twist-rings on the camera body. This allows installers to adjust the field of view between an 82 to 16-degree field of view.
So what we got here is a new smart WiFi bullet IP camera from Ezviz that can record in 2304 by 1296 using a 3mp sensor. And I think the image quality was good its definitely better image quality than their 1080p cameras but to be able to identify a person or read license plates they still need to be quite close to the camera.
We've got three new IP security cameras to introduce you to today: a vandal dome, a bullet, and a turret. Each camera comes in 2MP (FullHD 1080p) and 4MP (1440p), while the bullet and turret both come in 8MP (4K UltraHD). In this post, we're going to introduce you to these Uniview fixed lens cameras and walk you through everything you need to know.
The resolution that you get is going to depend on the model of your camera as well as your own surveillance needs. As we mentioned before, all three cameras do come in 2MP (FullHD 1080p) and 4MP (1440p). Additionally, the bullet and turret cameras also come in 8MP, or 4K UltraHD. Check out the images below to see the differences between these three resolutions.
The nice thing about the 2MP and 4MP bullets is the simple three-axis adjustments. Everything is controlled by loosening the one knob at the base of the bullet. Granted, this can be a pro or a con, depending on how accessible your camera is. You'll definitely want to install it somewhere out-of-reach.
The camera's connection pigtail is unique among the other Uniview fixed lens cameras. It has the standard RJ45 Ethernet connection and the 12v DC power connection, but it also comes with audio in/out and alarm in/out connections. These additional connections are not found on the bullet or the turret. So if you know you're going to be using your camera with a microphone or an alarm, then this is the camera for you.
Uniview's Fixed Lens bullet, turret, and vandal dome are fantastic additions to our IP security camera listings. But there's still so much more to show you about this new line of surveillance products. Be sure you subscribe to our newsletter so you can stay up to date with our future posts, as we walk you through our Uniview motorized lens cameras, PTZs, fisheyes, panoramic cameras, and more.
When we reviewed the Samsung Smartcam HD Pro ($245.99 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) last summer, we were impressed with its excellent video and night vision performance, but thought it was a bit too bulky. With the Smartcam HD Outdoor Camera ($229), Samsung offers a more streamlined surveillance camera that unlike the original, is designed for outdoor use. The camera itself isn't wireless and has to be tethered to a Wi-Fi module via a long, bulky cable, but it delivers very sharp 1080p video, crisp colors, and excellent night vision imagery. Samsung doesn't offer cloud-based recording with this camera, but it does have a microSD cart slot for capturing video locally. However, you'll have to supply your own SD card, and if you want two-way audio, your own speaker and microphone.
Design and Features The Smartcam HD Outdoor ( at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) is a small bullet-style 1080p camera with a 2-inch long white housing and a round glossy black lens cover that's 2 inches in diameter. The camera has a 128-degree field of view and a 4X digital zoom, and it uses 24 infrared LEDs to deliver night vision video at up to 50 feet. The camera has an IP66 rating, which protects against dust and powerful jets of water, and it has an operating temperature range of 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
Video quality is a tricky subject when dealing with DVRs like the one Night Owl uses. The DVR supports recording resolutions up to 1080p. Still, we suspect it supports a variety of wired add-on cameras with lower resolutions as well. (We didn't test this, but it's true for most wired surveillance systems.) In our case, the included cameras topped out at 1080p, which is standard for security cameras these days.
Still, not all 1080p cameras are equal. With Night Owl in particular, we found the color wasn't great in dim rooms and just decent in bright spaces. Compared to wireless cameras like the Ring Stick Up Cam and Wyze Cam Outdoor, the quality doesn't hold up considering those are easier to install.
A massive hard drive in the DVR stores up to 1TB of video, enough for eight cameras to each record continuously at 1080p resolution for over a day. With eight cameras, you can cover a variety of places around the house like the playroom, kitchen, or even the backyard. If you go with a lower resolution or fewer cameras, you can expect the system to last much longer. 2b1af7f3a8
