The eleventh season of Two and a Half Men premiered on CBS on September 26, 2013, and ended on May 8, 2014. This season marks another major change in the series as Amber Tamblyn joins the cast as Jenny, Charlie's illegitimate daughter.[1] Tamblyn was promoted to series regular on October 2, 2013.[2] This season is also the first and only season not to feature Angus T. Jones, who portrayed Jake Harper during the first ten seasons, in any capacity. He would return the following season as a guest star in the show's final episode.[3]
Angus T. Jones was originally downgraded to a recurring cast member this season while he attended college; however, on March 18, 2013, Jones officially confirmed that he would not return for season 11.[3] In his absence, the series introduced Amber Tamblyn, who portrays Jenny, the illegitimate, lesbian daughter of Charlie Harper. It had been announced on May 30, 2013 that a female character was to be added to the show and that producers were looking for a woman to play the part.[4][5] Tamblyn's addition to the cast was confirmed on August 7, 2013, and she made her first appearance in the season premiere. Although the role was initially announced as a series regular, it was later announced to be a recurring role, with the option to become a series regular later.[1] On October 2, 2013, Tamblyn was promoted to series regular.[2] Ashton Kutcher had nothing but praise for Tamblyn, calling her \"amazing.\"[6] Holland Taylor, who only appeared in one episode last season, appears in more episodes this season.[7]
Amber Tamblyn joined the cast as the new \"half man\", replacing Angus T. Jones. This is also the first season not to feature an opening sequence with the three leads singing along to the theme song \"Manly Men\". Instead, the opening titles features the shortened version of the theme with the show's title against a black background (a slide that has been frequently used throughout the series).[8]
Lynda Carter guest starred in the episode \"Justice in Star-Spangled Hot Pants\", playing a closeted lesbian version of herself. The episode's plot was inspired by a meeting Carter had with Jon Cryer, who is a fan of her. Country singer Brad Paisley, whose wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley had a recurring guest role during the season, appeared in the season finale. Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher's wife, guest starred in the episode \"Lan Mao Shi Zai Wuding Shang\".
Meanwhile, Alan goes to the movies alone and runs into Larry and Lyndsey. Larry offers to set up his friend \"Jeff Strongman\" (Alan) on a date with a co-worker named Gwen. Alan accepts, despite an angered Lyndsey trying to steer him away from it. Things start off good on a double-date, until Gwen (Brooke Lyons) is invited to a party and asks the other three to come along. When they arrive, they see everyone walking around half-naked, and Gwen casually announces that it is a swingers party. Playing along, Lyndsey says that she wants to sleep with \"Jeff\", leaving Larry to gladly hook up with Gwen. Lyndsey instead has sex with Jeff Probst rather than Jeff/Alan. Alan is left by himself, until he runs into Probst's grandmother (Marion Ross), and the two sleep together after she reveals that the party is for her.
The Gazette gave a positive review, especially for Kutcher, saying \"I think Ashton Kutcher is doing a great job on Two and a Half Men.\" They also praised the \"new LGBT angles the show has added.\" Overall they said the show \"has never been better.\"[34]They later praised the \"new and contemporary directions the show is taking\". They felt that this season could be remembered as \"its finest\", they also said it was \"one of few shows that makes me laugh nowadays\", and they hoped that the show gets renewed for another season. They said that \"Two and a Half Men is brilliant, in a silly sort of way.\"[35]

On April 26, 2013, CBS renewed the series for an 11th season after closing one-year deals with Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer. Angus T. Jones, who is currently attending college, has been relegated to recurring status for Season 11. However, he eventually departed from the show altogether and did not make an appearance this season. He was replaced by Amber Tamblyn, who portrays Charlie's previous unknown teenage daughter.
A consistent ratings juggernaut for much of the last decade, there was little doubt that CBS's Two and a Half Men would be see a full-season renewal for the fall of 2013. However, speculation has run rampant as to whether former child-actor Angus T. Jones (The Rookie) would return to show with leads Ashton Kutcher (Jobs) and Jon Cryer (Due Date).
Let said speculating end, as it looks as if Jones has opted not to return as a regular cast member. Reports indicate that he may occasionally appear as a guest star, but Two and a Half Men will soon be lacking its \"half\" more often than not.
Despite this, one has to wonder whether the cast and crew of Two and a Half Men should start readying to close up shop. With two of its original leads gone, the dynamic of the show will probably be all but alien to longtime viewers. At this point in its life-cycle, a sitcom needs to either reinvent itself drastically or fade into late-season obscurity. Can the writers and producers of Two and a Half Men spin Jones' departure into a successful revival Only the fall premiere will tell.
Veteran comedy Two and a Half Men will be back for its 12th season with stars Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher, though it's unclear if it will be for an abbreviated or final run. The early renewal means exec producer Chuck Lorre will continue to have four shows on the network: Men, Big Bang Theory, Mom and Mike & Molly.
From Warner Bros. Television, the comedy is an expensive one for the studio. Heading into season 11, Kutcher was the highest-paid sitcom actor on TV, earning about $700,000 per episode, while Emmy winner Cryer was compensated about $620,000 per half-hour.
In its recently concluded 11th season, Men averaged about 2.3 million viewers among the all-important adults 18-49 demographic and 9.1 million total viewers. Factoring in DVR, those figures rose to 3.1 million and 11.5 million total viewers, respectively, down year-over-year and off considerably from its Sheen heyday.
The comedy joins a rapidly growing roster of broadcast and cable series to end their run during the 2014-15 season. Men joins Parks and Recreation, Parenthood, Glee, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, The Newsroom, Mad Men, Strike Back, Wilfred, The Killing, Sons of Anarchy and Justified.
Two and a Half Men's credits, which has featured Jones each season since the show's premiere in 2003, has always included a trio singing the same fan-favorite diddy. So who will be joining series regulars Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher in Season 11 We're guessing that the new half man's spot could eventually be filled by upcoming character Jenny, Charlie Harper's (Charlie Sheen) daughter. Although the role is yet to be cast.
Jones received a wave of backlash last November when he repeatedly trashed his own show on camera and called it \"filth.\" Although the 19-year-old actor apologized for his unprovoked rant, CBS decided to drop Jones as a series regular from the show's new upcoming season.

Ever-more comfortable in its evolving cast, it's been some time since 'Two and a Half Men' confirmed that its eleventh season would feature the addition of Charlie Harper (Sheen)'s long-lost daughter to the cast, a role yet to be filled. Series creator Chuck Lorre recently spoke to the media about the new dynamic arriving from Charlie's daughter, and a potential role for 'Anger Management' castoff Selma Blair.
