POLIS D. POLYCARPOU
MENG., MSC., PGCE, FRAES, MILT
Executive Principal/Headmaster
Mr Polycarpou began his tenure in September 2021, as the first non-Clerical head of our School. Himself once a student of our Greek School (graduating in 1992), Mr Polycarpou worked for almost two decades in Merchant Banking, specialising in Aviation Finance. After retiring from the City, Mr Polycarpou turned his hand to education. After holding various positions at various schools in the neighbouring London Borough of Enfield, he is currently Director of Learning at a State secondary school in our Borough of Haringey.
Mr Polycarpou serves as a Trustee of the St. Barnabas Greek Orthodox Community Fund (Charity number: 273104) and represents the Staff Body on the St. Barnabas School's Board of Governors and School Committees. His own three children are currently also students of our school.
MACHI PSARA NEOFYTOU
Deputy Headteacher
Mrs Neofytou is the longest-serving member of staff at our School, with almost half a century of loyal service. Mrs Neofytou has introduced thousands of young members of our Community to the Greek language. Her primary classes and approach are renowned and iconic across the network of Greek Schools in the UK.
REV. PRESBYTER GREGORY FLORIDES
Clerical Head of School
Fr. Gregory is the Clerical Head of our School, representing the Bishop-In-Charge of our Greek Orthodox Community, His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Claudiopolis. Fr. Gregory works closely and tirelessly alongside the youth of our community and our students. A bi-lingual theological academic, Fr. Gregory is a pillar of our youthful community, providing spiritual guidance, enlightenment and support to our faithful young.
MARIA THEOCHARIDOU
Head of School Committee
Ms Theocharidou serves as the newly-elected Head of the School Committee - an amalgamation of the previous Board of School Governors and the Parent-Teachers Association of our Greek School. A Marketing Executive and mum of two young girls (the eldest of which is a student at our school), Ms Theocharidou balances her very busy schedule dedicating a great deal of time and energy to ensuring every aspect of the Greek School is well-looked after, in addition to organising the school's fund-raising initiatives.
